GV Sliced Canned Potatoes

I usually use these when making a pot of beef vegetable soup. Always rinse them thoroughly to get rid of the gummy stuff. Depending on the size of slices cut them in half or quarters. Start cooking them on a low simmer when you start the meat and broth to insure a good taste. Don't wait until adding your last vegetables. Makes soup pretty easy and tasty. Recommend.

Usually I buy the whole canned potatoes to use in stews. However, in soups, the whole potatoes are a bit too large to spoon into the mouth. Didn't like the diced variety. The sliced variety is right-sized for use in soups. Can also heat up in butter with some chives or parsley, and salt to serve as a side dish in a meal.

How have these been gatekept from me

I don't know how canned potatoes were gatekept from me all these years, but holy cow what an amazing canned item! Taste just as good or better than when you do it yourself and they're under a dollar!? I don't think I ever need to buy a bag of potatoes again. These taste fresh, they're all perfect and you can get them sliced or cubed or whole, but the sliced are the easiest.
