Cooking Instructions - General **To prepare 2 boxes of Uncle Ben's® Long Grain & Wild Rice Original Recipe: Use 4 1/4 cups water and 2 tbsp. butter or olive oil (optional) and follow steps 1 through 3 of the stove top cooking directions. **Alternative Cooking Method **•For best results, use stovetop cooking method. **Stovetop - From Ambient **Preferred Method: **Step 1: **Combine rice, contents of seasoning packet, 2 1/4 cups water and 1 tbsp. butter or olive oil (optional) into a medium saucepan. Stir well. **Step 2: **Bring contents to a boil. Reduce Heat (medium-low) and simmer covered 25 minutes or until water is absorbed. **Step 3: **Remove from heat and set aside for 5 minutes before serving. **Microwave - From Ambient **1. Combine rice, contents of seasoning packet, 2 1/4 cups water and 1 tbsp. butter or olive oil (optional) in a 2-qt microwave-safe glass bowl. Stir well. **2. Cover tightly with microwave-safe lid or plastic wrap and microwave on High for 5 minutes. **3. Reduce to Medium (50%) for 15-20 minutes. Stir occasionally. Remove from microwave. Let stand covered for 5 minutes or until water is absorbed. **Microwave ovens vary. Cooking times are approximate. Adjust cooking time as needed.
