Nice little peace of mind for diving.

Overall, this is a well-made and solid knife. It performs exactly as I need it to, with ease. It mounts securely to my BCD hose, and while the release mechanism is a little unintuitive at first, it's not overly complex. The handle feels good in the hand—not too small—and the blade holds an edge well and is easy to resharpen. It also adds minimal bulk to whatever you attach it to. I liked it so much on my diving gear that I bought a second one to wear on a lanyard for general use. It's also from a brand I know and trust, which adds confidence in the purchase. That said, it's not without flaws. The sheath is made from a very hard ABS-type plastic. While it looks nice and has good spring action, I worry that with regular use and UV exposure, the release tab could eventually snap off, making the sheath unusable. A more rubberized plastic might have been a better, longer-lasting choice. I also don't love that the blade is made from 304 stainless steel instead of marine-grade 316 stainless. For something designed to go in the water, that feels like a corner cut. I would've gladly paid a little more for better corrosion resistance. It'll be fine in freshwater lakes and rivers, but if you're diving in the ocean or using it in a chlorinated pool, make sure to rinse it thoroughly after every use. Despite those gripes, I feel I got more than my money's worth with this little bargain. If I lost it tomorrow, I'd buy it again. I'd also recommend it to anyone looking for a tough, versatile knife with moderate corrosion resistance for use in or around the water.

There is no release button. Just have to pri the knife up to get it out. Not at all the best. May need both hands to remove. And it requires force… so can get cut when it breaks loose.😰

Defective locking mechanism on sheath

The item I received is not as pictured. I was attempting to purchase the Cressi Lima with one hand removal operation from the sheath. Once the knife I received was removed from the sheath and then reinserted into the sheath it cannot be removed without excessive manipulation and force. This is not a usable knife for diving. The sheath presents an obstacle to remove the knife without slicing a finger with the knife blade. Very unsafe sheath locking mechanism. Very unsafe knife for a diving emergency knife.
