For adults 18 years of age and older. This product is to be used once a day (every 24 hours), every day for 14 days. It may take 1 to 4 days for full effect; some people get complete relief of symptoms within 24 hours. 14-Day Course of Treatment: Swallow 1 tablet with a glass of water before eating in the morning, take every day for 14 days, do not take more than 1 tablet a day, do not use for more than 14 days unless directed by your doctor, swallow whole. Do not chew, crush, or suck tablets. Repeated 14-Day Courses (if needed): you may repeat a 14-day course every 4 months. Do not take for more than 14 days or more often than every 4 months unless directed by a doctor. Children under 18 years of age: ask a doctor. Heartburn in children may sometimes be caused by a serious condition.

This Product Works Like Magic!
I have tried other brands such as Pepcid AC and Nexium, and neither one of these products worked for me. I've also tried Tums, Rolaids. These are quick fixes that do not offer relief long-term. Max and hour or two. I have been using Prilosec off and on for 3 years, and it has never let me down. I take one tablet and will have heartburn relief for up to 3 days. I am sensitive to tomatoes, oranges, and any acid fruit. If I feel a tinge of heartburn coming on, I take one with water, and in no time, I'm feeling relief. The directions say to take it I think an hour before eating. I took it a minute before I ate because I could feel the burn, and I was able to eat right after taking it. It's a great product. I'm glad you don't need a prescription for it.
