Outstanding, but unavailable locally.

This is absolutely my favorite barbecue sauce, but I cannot find it in local stores. Once I obtained a case of the 18-ounce bottles by special order from a local grocery. Running out, I searched the internet for a source. Since the small bottles were listed as out of stock, I had to order a package of two BIG bottles. Now I have nearly ten quarts, which I may not use up in the rest of my life. (I'm 85.) That inconvenience is the only reason I gave a medium rating for value versus cost.

I love Open Pit. This was my dad's favorite BBQ sauce. Now that he's no longer with us, I'm keeping up the tradition. Born and raised in Chicago, Mild Sauce is king. Now that I'm in Texas, Open Pit is the closest thing to that.
