A very talented young lady

I happened to see Esperanza on the Dave Letterman Show, and she wowed everyone. I am not a particular jazz fan, but I liked what she did, and think it is a major accomplishment for such a young lady. I could not find the CD in the store, but it was for sale online. I had no trouble ordering, and it arrived in just a few days. No problems, good experience.

Where Have You Been, Esperanza

Esperanza Spalding's Music is Fresh and alive with vibrant colors of rhythm and melodies that surprise, as well as soothe, the selective ear. I, a lover of all genre of music from Country to Classical, Mariachi to Hip Hop, have been awaiting silently for the dense din of simplistic, over reaching, unsatisfying sound-alike musicians to give way to the next great advancement or innovation in music. And, Thank Gaud, it's finally arrived in the form of Esperanza Spalding. The true surprise is her uncanny use of melodic vocals over inspired Rythms like in 'Precious' or 'I know you know'. Her musicianship takes me back to a time of musical appreciation that conjure the likes of Art Blakley and Miles Davis to mind in tunes like 'If that's true'. The truth is, if you care at all about music or the future direction of Jazz, you've got to check into Esperanza! Nuff Said - 21stCenturyJazz
