Penn Rival series

I have used Penn products over the years and have always had good luck with them. I was in the market for some new gear for next fishing season. I do a lot of catfishing (anchoring, trolling, bumping) and i need a reel with plenty of power to bring in the big ones. I always shop and compare (quality/price) when thinking of buying. The Penn Rival has to be the best value for this type of reel. Its strong, light, made with big gears and carbon drag system. I prefer a dog system over the Anti-revers bearing and this reel has a double dog anti-reverse (double !!). It is easy to clean and maintain. It is built as good as any reel of this type cost 4 times the amount. The quality and price of this reels is great deal to any fishermen.

Affordable option for trolling

Bought eight of these to spread between my walleye and musky trolling rods. They work great! never had a problem with any of them. They are primarily used with planner boards. the bait clickers are easy to engage and disengage, and the cranking lever is big enough to get plenty of leverage when reeling in boards or a big fish.
