YOU GOTTA HAVE THESE! IT MAKES THE PLANE. SO EASY TO INSTALL

5 fellow flyers of my Sunday group had the Ultrix and I didn't. It looked fun and I was given the chance to play with one for a battery's worth of flight. Never pulled the trigger on one then finally decided to on a whim. I got it and bought the LED's with it. Now I can say I'm the cool kid on the block because all my buddies don't have lights and the lights are absolutely a must have addition because when everybody else is boxing there's up, I'm putting my batteries in and flying into and well beyond sunset. I have neighbors texting me in the evenings wanting to know if I'm going to be flying this evening! LOL! I have 11 R/C planes now, most all big planes, including 1/5 scale Carbon Cub, Albatross, Extras, Trojans, etc. 2 of my most favorite flyers boiling down to quickly accessible and convenience are 1: The UMX Ultrix and 2: The UMX Turbo Timber. These are both "MUST HAVES!" I was apprehensive about the "easy install" claims on the site after seeing some rather drawn out YouTube videos showing complexity and doing some griping about the claim and then going through some very unnecessary process. The claims were unfounded. Pro-tip: Get a small zip and insert it into the engine nacelle hole FIRST from the outboard side going inward towards the fuselage. Don't run it all the way through. Now, insert your light strip from the inboard side, diodes down, and it will go in on top of the zip tie. Just keep wiggling and pushing and the zip tie will act as a ramp and the light strip will come out of the outboard hole. Lay them up in their respective indents in the leading edge, again, with the diode facing DOWN into the foam so just the backing is visible then tape into place with a thin strip of clear packing tape. Another Pro Tip: Plug them into the correct ports BEFORE beginning the install and plug the battery in so you know which tip is red (Left/Port) and the other is green (Right/Starboard). Save yourself having to redo the task. Remember, your Ultrix is upside down when doing the install so position accordingly!

A must have for the umx ultrix!

Now I can fly my umx ultrix any time, day or night! The lights are bright and easy to see. There are five different light sequences that you can cycle through by pressing the bind button. Easy installation only takes a few minutes. I first tried foam safe ca glue but it didn't stick to the foam. I tried nedium ca and it didn't stick either, so I ended up using Foam-Tac which worked perfectly. I added a strip of clear glossy packing tape over the light strips to make sure they stayed in place.
