Lovely to see - but poor workmanship

I was pleased with this purchase. Before putting it on the bed, I washed it. Color did not run, and it was wrinkle free when taken from the dryer. However; when putting it onto the bed - I found a tear along the seam on one side. About 6” in length! I was very disappointed...I had to get my needle and thread to repair the tear. This makes me worry that the workmanship on the spread is flimsy and eventually I will have to repair other tears in the fabric!
