I bought this and a Casper Element. i slept on both for a few weeks each. I chose this matress and really loved the firmness. It is a perfect density without being too firm and without being so soft that you sink in. However, being a "lightwieght" sleeper with an large arch in my back I needed the 2'' Zinus Green Tea memory foam topper to contour to me as 3'' was far too soft.

Back pain gone
Compared to my saggy, old, back-destroying mattress, this one feels quite firm. It did not feel very comfy for the first ten days or so, but I felt less and less back pain upon arising, then I just had some non-painful back spasms, and now I don’t have any back discomfort at all. My conclusion is that the firmness is better for my back, even though I don’t get that comfy, cushy feeling, and also that there was a transition period of a couple of weeks as my back healed and readjusted. It’s such a relief to get rid of that chronic aching back I felt every day when I got up. Not a pleasant way to start the day! I have so much more energy now without that pain.
