The auto repair shop had replaced the OEM boots with rigid plastic-ish ones using zip ties. They failed within a year. The boots were broken in several places and became detached from the steering rack. We cleaned out the rack and installed these new ones. The material was thicker and more pliable. It appears more rugged. We secured them with hose clamps. No issues yet.
