Walmart is ok exceot when out of product accessories. Can’t blame them for what follows purchase…poor choice of materials or design of weedwacker by Ryobi isn’t their fault, The string I ordered 5 yrs ago when I got a Ryobi weedwacker (rechargeable battery operated) was 2 yellow strands twisted tightly around each other but the 1st delivery (not Walmart) was a single twisted green vs yellow strand that broke easily in use. Neither is perfect, but I recommend the option of then semi-clear fluorescent yellow string w/2 strands twisted together%26then wound onto the spool (I now buy 3-packs for extras ) vs the green single-strand string that they twist along its own axis which makes it more curly%26breaks MUCH more often while in use). Was hard for me to tell when I 1st ordered a 3-pack of string from another Walmart store that the latter was green %26 just a single-strand vs yellow w/2 strands twisted together tightly . The single strand keeps its memory of being wound on a spool longer than the twisted 2-strand version %26 I think causes it to break more often while in use when a curved end of the string strikes the edge of the weedwacker b4 contacting/cutting grass). Delivery guy for the single-strand green string (not from Walmart) ignored me when I told him it wasn’t the yellow%26twisted 2-strand version of the product that I’d ordered, but he quickly left it in my hand after I mentioned it%26took off while I was tryng to finish telling him it wasn’t what I’d ordered. I threw it out after I tried it-and when seemed the twisted 2-strand yellow “string” worked “fine” w/my Ryobi ( it broke too often)
By the time I needed more string, “things” had changed—my brother looked in a Walmart store that advertised it, but was none in stock. Maybe w/so many issues%26now w/strings breaking in use more often%26becoming loosely wound on the spool vs tightly (latter is needed), needing to rewind it onto the spool so often-a major pain. :Still had to re-wind it on the spool (holder) it came on%26then thru a very tiny/slanted hole in the inside of the holder while putting the spool on the weedwacker so string sticks outside the holder%26can cut grass etc. May need to get different brand/style of weedwacker w/o these problems (vs wasting a lot of “string” due to breakage being sent a product that doesn’t match the description, etc). It’s hard when string tries to unwind on the spool b4 I can get its end threaded thru the small slanted hole inside the holder%26out of the holder %26 weedwacker frame so it contacts grass to cut it. Hoping things go more smoothly now.
