In Dragon's Dogma, you are the Arisen, a customizable avatar who explores the world of Gransys to complete quests and fight enemies in real time. Set in an open world environment and played from a third-person perspective, Dragon's Dogma allows you to choose from various vocations including Fighter, Mage, Mystic Knight, Assassin and Magic Archer. Combat is tactical and literally hands-on: the Arisen can grab or cling to enemies, allowing for more advanced attacks. Monsters are resilient and deadly, but you'll have help thanks to the innovative Pawn system. While you're exploring Gransys, you can recruit three members to your party. One of the Pawns is a non-playable character (NPC) who belongs to the main character's world, and the other two Pawns are NPCs can be borrowed from other players by connecting online. Over 200 NPCs inhabit the world of Gransys, a persistent world with a dynamic weather system, and they move about according to their own schedules. Dragon's Dogma is available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is an expanded version of Dragon's Dogma. Incorporating community feedback about the original game, Dark Arisen includes additional content like the dungeon Bitterblack Isle, new weapons and armor and full Japanese voice acting. Save data from Dragon's Dogma can be transferred into Dark Arisen, which introduces Dragon's Dogma to modern platforms. Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows.
