About Matzo in Kosher - Walmart.com
Is matzo gluten free
Matzo is not gluten free. It is traditionally made from wheat, rye, barley, oats and/or spelt. All of these grains contain gluten, so traditional matzo balls or crackers are not gluten free and should not be consumed by someone with celiac disease or a gluten intolerance.
How long do matzos last in the pantry?
When stored properly in a sealed plastic bag or container that does not let air through, matzos can last between two to four years before showing signs of staleness since they are mostly just flour and water.
How long do cooked matzo balls last?
Matzo ball dough can last for one to two days in the fridge before being cooked. Once the matzo balls are cooked they can last three to four days in the fridge or in a soup. If you freeze your matzo balls, they can last up to three months. Matzo balls will not freeze as will in soup so it is recommended to freeze them separately.
