yes, this is an all purpose bag. I use it for gym, since I shower there and go to work. I just stack clothes in the order that I want everything to come out. Perfect for anything. :)

Yes, I use it for that purpose and works fine for me, with the caveat that I don't think it would handle more than 40 lbs. on a regular basis (i.e. one 5-pound laptop and ten 3.5-pound textbooks, 3.5 pounds being the average weight of the typical textbook), so only an issue if you are looking to shift more than that on a regular basis.

This rolling tote measures 42" from floor to top of handle with the handle extended and locked in place. I am 5'3" in flats and 5'6" in heels and find it a very comfortable length.

The handle extends to 2 different sizes: 19 inches and 24 inches.
