Great product Great color Easy to assemble I only am using this product for DVD's so if that is the case it turns in to a 4 shelf storage rather than 6.. you can put 53 DVD's on all 4 shelves and have room on the top and bottom shelves to lay flat up to 7 DVDs tall and 4 columns wide for a total of 268 DVDs

This multimedia storage tower is a great piece of storage to have because, it stores a lot of media it says it will hold 280 discs but, I figured out a way to double that # by replacing the original cases with ones half its size(blank media cases). I was trying to buy another one but, their out of stock for now. As, soon as they get some more I will be getting another one I hope its soon because I have more media to store. It really is a great product to have around the house.

I have been needing a multimedia storage but was frustrated how short they all were. This went together easily and was mostly a one woman (yes, I did it) job. I secured the bottom one to the wall into a stud from the inside, not the outside as directed. I secured the top in the same way. I will get a bracket to secure the top and bottom together on the unseen side. This is not the recommended use, however, this is exactly what I wanted!! see picture

    • It appears the backside of the shelving unit has that cheap foldout fake cardboard imitation wood panel you nail on the backside. If you buy a 1/4th inch piece of plywood and screw it on behind that after installing the fake woodgrain cardboard that'll improve the strength of the entire unit by 100% or more making it a solid shelving system you won't have to worry about. It'll prevent it from wobbling side to side due to the plywood being rigid and you'd be able to place things on top of the unit also.

    • The shelves aren't very deep- they fit a DVD case standing upright just about perfectly. It's also not very sturdy, I don't think I would put anything super heavy on it or anything that would make it more unstable. The base shelf is wider but not by a whole lot. I can't imagine a fax machine fitting on it anywhere.

    • I wouldn't reccomend it for that.

    • I am not sure about it holding the weight of those electronics. However, the shelves are not as deep as they appear. I do not believe it would sucessfully hold a stereo system or fax machine. They would over hang. I do have a 19"tv sitting on top of it.

    • This unit is particle board and has no center brace. I would hesitate to put that much weight on the top. It will bow quickly. Designed for light weight DVDs or CDs.

    • No; the manual says each shelf holds a maximum of 15 lbs apiece (the bottom/one closest to the floor can hold 20 lbs). They don't recommend putting anything on the top, either.

    • This unit is not deep enough for that so no. It's for media storage only really. I added some picture frames but that's about it

    • I don't think the shelves are wide enough for a stereo or speakers unless they're small, but paperback books would fit.

    • If you mounted it to the wall with some L brackets, a TV might fit. The base on the TV would have to be small. It might be better to put this under a TV that was mounted to the wall.

    • I would advise against it. The top center of the shelf is only about 6 inches deep, and I wouldn't be surprised if it would start sagging after awhile from a heavy load such as a TV. Also, this is not that sturdy, so I could see the TV falling off with a little shaking or nudge and potentially hurting children. The unit does come with a mounting screw so you can screw it to a wall. If you decide to put a TV on it, I would highly recommend you screw the unit to the wall to prevent it from tipping over.

    • NO not in a million years its top heavy right off the bat and its only 6 and a half inches deep on the top side, it clearly states in the owners manual THIS IS NOT DESIGNED FOR TV SETS OF ANY KIND! I hope this helps

    • You could, but, it would not be the most stable place, given the limited depth of the unit.

    • I would say definitely not. If there were a way to secure the unit to the wall in multiple locations then maybe but I wouldn't stack them.
      by lovinlowpricesWI1/19/2011
Was this answer helpful? (0) (0)
    • No. There is no other attatchment pieces that would allow you to do this. It would be very unstable. There are other shelving units that do come in two pieces that you could seperate for smaller shelves, or combine to make one shelving unit. I would not recommend trying to place two of these together.

    • I would only suggest this option if you securely mount both units to a wall. They are not very deep and could topple over easily.

    • Only if you stack them top on top with the platform on the top of the unit and bolt them together.

Was this answer helpful? (0) (1)
    • Yes, if you put the top one upside down. That keeps the middle from sticking out too far. If you do this, the bottom of the top shelf will not quite match the top of the bottom shelf, but it will be close enough... (about 2 inches difference)
      by OccasonalShopper11/11/2010
Was this answer helpful? (0) (1)
    • NO, I don't think that would work. The base of the unit is larger than the top and I think it would fall over.
      by luvspugs245311/11/2010
Was this answer helpful? (1) (0)
    • I have mounted an additional shelf on top of two of these mounted side by side on a 2x10 with casters the swivel type. It works as long as your careful when moving it around. As far as stacking them I wouldn't do it with out making the sides stronger and increasing the base size. These things tip real easy. They can be mounted on sturdy cabinet however.
      by moviemadman11/11/2010
Was this answer helpful? (1) (1)
    • I wouldn't try that . It is made to stand on the base not on top of another unit.

Was this answer helpful? (2) (0)
    • You would definetly have to mount the product to the wall to make it stable. The top and bottom pieces stick out further than the rest of the unit so you would probably want to leave them off. The simple answer is yes; with some added handiwork and supplies.
