No dye lot solids, multi's and Heathers are dyelotted: We try but are not always able to match dyelots. For the solid colors, it is 7 oz, 333yds. For the flecks and multicolored, it is 5 oz, 233 to 238 yds. According to the manufacturer, anyway. :)

The solid colors are all 5 oz. The variegated ones are less.

Net Wt. 5oz. 256 yards. Two skeins will make a basic hat and scarf.
Cast on 80 stitches with a 8 us needles or 7 us needle.
Do the hat first. Then you can est. amount left for a basic scarf or a basket stitch.
You can cast on 27 to 30 stitches for the scarf.

I first used Red Heart Soft about a year ago and it is so beautiful and soft. I've used it to make several sweaters, hats, and scarves. This yarn works up nicely and the shininess makes the projects look very professional. I love this yarn and might have way too many skeins of it.

Beautiful, soft, and high quality!

This yarn was much more than I expected, it isn't as soft as yarn was years ago but is so much better than what I have been able to find for the past few years and it is soft enough that I will use it for my own grandchildren. It is a soft cuddly yarn that has a really nice sheen. I make baby blankets for charity so I'm always looking for a bargain and this is it. I recommend this to all crocheters or knitters and plan on ordering more. I really love it.

Love this yarn

I love to crochet and Red Heart Soft is by far my favorite worsted weight yarn that I've found so far. Because of its low cost, I was surprised by its softness, its beautiful sheen, and by how well it drapes. It's very easy to work with, not "fussy" at all. I will continue to use this yarn and recommend it to anyone!

This yarn is a delight to work with!  It doesn't split at all, each skein had very few joins, the stitch definition is gorgeous, and it glides over my Clover and Furls hooks.  I have made an extra long cardigan with this and was very pleased.  I will buy this again.

Lives up to its name

This yarn is phenomenal. Everything works up soft and looks factory made. The yarn is so nice Walmart has jacked up the price on the popular colors which is ridiculous. Yarn that used to cost around three dollars is now over five. Michael's usually has two for deals so just a heads up guys.

Great yarn. Price...not so much.

As the name suggested that this was a ‘soft' yarn, I purchased it to knit a baby sweater. I have completed the sweater and did not find it to be particularly soft at all. I am really hoping that once I wash it, I will notice a big difference, otherwise I will not be able to use this for a baby gift and will need to knit something else with different yarn.

Not really ‘soft'

This was my first time working with this yarn, as an expecting mother requested these colors for a baby blanket. Overall, this yarn is ok. While it is nice and soft and has a good variety of nice colors, it splits pretty easily, and there have been many spots in the yarn where it seemed like a ply was fraying. I'm not sure about the long-term durability of anything made with this yarn. I don't plan to purchase this yarn again.

Mediocre yarn that is soft with nice colors

The yarn felt terrible, rough, and hardly soft at all. It tangled easily, which made winding it and frogging very difficult and time-consuming. It broke often in the process. Some skeins had sections where strands were loose and unwound. I will never buy it again, never use again once I use up what I already have.
