After the super easy installation, it only took 3 days to take the pool from rather cold to a very comfortable temperature.  Other than a reasonable purchase cost, the heating of the water is efficient, free and reduces airborne debris from going into the pool. Great product.

Heats our pool very well and economically!

I am very happy with this cover. It brought my pool water up at least five degrees alone. I also got a solar heater and both together have so far brought my pool up to 92 degrees. My kids say it feels like they are swimming in bath water. We have an 18 foot round pool.

Works great

I've had the thin little covers before and they sucked big time !.!. This one is like really thick bubble wrap and it's very durable. We had it one the first day and the water was nice n warm a foot down. We started the pump to circulate the water and I was able to swim within 2 days of having the cover on. I have bad arthritis and can't get in cold water, this cover was perfect to heat the pool water up fast for that purpose.

I also had my trees trimmed to reduce debri, and with this cover, it has worked a miracle.
Yes, it does warm the pool to some degree,
but half of my pool is in shade, and I also turn it over to the smooth side to not heat the pool as much...I like it cool since I live in Texas.
I have had zero problems with my Intex pool,
but I change the filters regularly, I have a vaccum, and I do daily maintenance and I have the water checked by Crown Pools (free)
You must have a cover of some kind to control debri, the filter cannot do it alone, or top skimmers--- this cover completes my pool maintenance and has reduced debri so much
that maintaining my pool is enjoyable.
Some people trim their cover, I have not yet,
as it does hang over the edges and the wind did not even blow it off.
Even if you only cover half your pool with this, it will still help.
I am after this cover for debri control mainly,
warming the pool is secondary to me in August.
My pool is Salt Water System, and I have had it now 11 weeks, since July 1st.

Just what I needed for my 18' Intex pool!

After reading the reviews I purchased this blanket and so glad I did. It does indeed make a difference in the surface temperature and helps to keep debris out of the pool too. As many others suggested, I went with a size smaller than my pool....I have a 16' round and went with this 15'. It's easy enough to put on & take off by myself, just have to pull towards me and roll, pull, roll....piece of cake.

Handy Blanket

Actually, this is a great solar blanket. It heated up the pool by about 5 to 7 degrees but it's taken a while. I've had it on my pool for about 2 weeks and it's taken this long to warm the pool up! My wife was expecting an instant increase but what I've read from others, I knew it was going to take a while. Nevertheless, it's still a great and cheap way to warm up the water without having to add another electronic device. Oh, one other thing. I had to go to my local hardware store to purchase 15 clips (for my 15' pool) to clamp the blanket down. Without the clips, half of it would blow off the pool on windy days, so I added the clips to keep it down and tight against the water surface. Another huge benefit I found is that it keeps debris and dirt from getting into the water compared to the original pool cover with all of the little holes.

Great Solar Blanket but...

Bought 12' blanket for my 12' above ground "SummerEscapes" pool. Is larger than the pool but instructions state you can cut to fit. Haven't done that yet. We have high winds here (Colorado Springs Frontrange / Eastern Plains) and it still stays on very well. It does warm the water a little on the surface and my kids feel quite comfortable in it. It does help a lot with water loss due to evaporation and keeping the chlorine level up. I think it is a great value for the price. Would recommend the product.

Good product for the price.

you put this on your pool whenever you are not in it and it will take the sunlight and make the pool warm and keep it warm throughout the night even if its cooler in the evening. works great. you need it!

keeps pool warm

We have only had this for about 2 weeks so I can't give it 5 stars just yet.  However we recently had a bad storm come through our area and the leaf cover we bought the same time we bought this blew off almost immediately and because we had this as a second cover underneath it kept all the dirt and leaves from getting into the pool while the leaf cover was off.  My only negative is this thing is the devil trying to get on and off alone.  So it's best to have someone help you get take it off

After doing some reading online we decided to try out the Solar Blanket mainly do to the good reviews we read online in comparison to other solar heater options and the price was also very attractive in comparison to other options. Where the product failed us is that it just didn't do a better job then our basic pool cover that came with the pool. After about two weeks of experimenting with the cover we came to the conclusion that the pool cover did just as good job as the Blanket and most importantly was much easier to handle and kept the pool clean.

I would only recommend this option if you do not have a pool cover already. If you have a pool cover, the exposure it gets from the sun and the heat it transfers to the water will do just the same if not better job then the Solar Blanket. In both cases from what we can tell the reason for the increase of temperature is do to the fact that the cover or Blanket gets hot under the sun and transfer the heat over to the water. Its hard to tell but it seems like the pool cover actually does a better job since its doing a better job in containing the water from evaporating while the Solar Blanket still has some minor evaporation. Also the pool cover in general does a better job in keeping the chemicals in the water also from evaporating and most importantly keeps the pool clean. Also the Solar Blanket just seems much more fragile then the pool cover and requires more gentle care which is not so much as with the pool cover.

I do recommend this option if you do not have a pool cover and can't get one in an affordable price. If I didn't have a pool cover my ratings would have been better.
