Does the digital monitor operate by batteries because it is not coming on?

The Gazelle itself is not noisy; but, unfortunately, I think your hardwood floors will squeak with each glide. Maybe some padding (such as Gold's Gym Puzzle Mat) would help. Perhaps you could find a time of day that would not annoy your neighbors for 20-30 minutes daily. You seem to be very considerate. Hope things work out for you!

Machine has no noise. I would put some type of mat to keep it that way though.

This machine does not make any noise at all.I have only had mine for a week so far.It might make noise after awhile and with a lot of use.You might want to buy a rubber work out mat to put under it for your squeaky wood floor.Thank you for being considerate of your neighbors.I wish more people would think like you.If the floor still squeaks, you can try talcum powder between the floor and the mat.

I find the machine to be pretty quiet. You could always lay a towel or two below the machine for extra protection.

I also live in an apartment and does not make any noise on my carpeted floor.
