Just a great pot!

After searching for a wide pot I came across this one on the Coo Pro site and saw that it was available at Walmart for about 1/3 the price. This pot is exactly what we were looking for. We've been using it for boiling down tomato's for sauce. The wideness of it allows the water to steam off quickly. It's heavy duty. The rivets inside are smooth which allows for easy clean up. And even after 6 hours of boiling down tomato's the pot cleans up amazingly easy with soapy water and a nylon scrubber. Some times you get what you pay for and this time we actually got more than expected. It's a very good pot.

Sturdy pot, great value

I had a 32 quart stainless steel pot that I used for brewing beer, however it was inexpensive and, while it served the purpose, not very sturdy. I searched for a sturdier stainless steel pot with thicker walls, encapsulated base, and riveted handles. I found several pots that met my criteria and they were all in the $100-125 range (pot + shipping). Then I stumbled upon this pot that, from the photos, looked very much like the other heavy pots I'd viewed, was larger capacity at 35 quarts, and was priced well under $80 (pot + tax). So I bought it! I received the pot quickly and happily noticed the sturdy construction and that the pot was considerably heavier than my old, thin metal pot. The handles appear to be strongly riveted to the pot. The listing doesn't indicate what type of stainless steel is used to make the pot, but a magnet will stick strongly to the pot and lid. I put it to use the next day to brew a six gallon batch of beer and it was perfect. The encapsulated SS/aluminum/SS base distributed heat from my gas range very evenly and I experienced no scorching of the beer ingredients. The lid is flat so it seals well against the lip of the pot. I spent a ridiculous amount of time researching the best pot to purchase (within my $125 budget) and this is it. Time will tell about durability but it looks and feels well made so I expect it will last for decades.

Good purchase.

I bought this item to use to dye fabric. It was the largest stainless steel pot I could find. Fabric or garments need to move freely during the dyeing process and this worked very well. It also cleaned up beautifully.
