No, it is not an "oak" color, it is more of a medium reddish maple? Perfect for my daughters home since the wood is darker, not oak.

It is in between, Matches our cherry dinning table from fingerhut, but at same time looks almost same as the Oak table in our formal dinning area. A bit dark for oak, but light for cherry.

It's not a light oak like you'd expect. I believe it's described as "Tobacco" on the matching table. I really like the color, sort of a reddish-brown, but it's not going to match a traditional light oak finish.

I would say the seat is more of a light mahogany or maybe cherry (but not that reddish). It is distinctly darker than the stain color of the white & oak chairs (they have a more blond oak stain). The picture is a good representation of the color of the chairs.
