The "ball" logo is raised. The sides are smooth.

One side has "Ball" and the other a design....so, no smooth side.

no spot for lable, use the ball labels or mark the lid.

yes you can place a label on the side. I prefer to identify and date the item on the top. Then you don't have to worry about getting the label off when you are ready to use the jar again.

The front and back have the word Ball on one side and a raised stamp of fruit on the other. The sides have two parrallel raises going up and down with marks seperating amounts...........If you have Stickers you may possibly put them on the sides or if small enough on the lids like where I put my labels

These jars have raised designs and measurement marks on all sides. Label would have to go on lid. If giving for a gift twine wrapped jars with a label look nice and rustic.

They have raised letters but if you have a small lable there probably is room.

These jars are slightly squared-off....not perfectly round.

These are squared off. Has cups and oz. measurement lines on side. Also has "etched" design of fruits opposite of the "Ball Mason"

Like any jar they are usable in the freezer, however, you have touse good judgment when defrosting them. If you are not careful when defrosting them, they can break.

These jars are not considered freezer safe. The reason is because they have a neck that is smaller diameter than the body of the jar. A wide-mouth Ball jar (with no neck) is considered freezer-safe.

only the jars marked for freezing will do the job. these were not.

not a great idea to put glass jars in a freezer.

These jars would be freezer safe, with any glass container you would leave enough head space for expansion.

You would have to allow room for contents to exspand, not completely fill the jars, and not seal them tight. Not the best type of container to freeze.

I got these 'bundled' free with my new Pressure canner - convenient when sent site-to-store, no shipping on the purchase. I like these pint jars as they work well for doing pinto beans for 1 person meals that are home canned.

Cant find them cheaper!

I bought these mason jars on Walmart.com - ship-to-store because they were cheaper in price than on amazon.com. When I received them, they wree perfectly intact, no chipping or breaking. I bought these for my daughters pink lemonade-themed birthday party as party favors and centerpieces.

I ordered 5 cases for my wedding. I am going to use these for the candy bar. The packing was excellent. Not a one was damaged or cracked!

This was the "free" jar case that came with the purchase of the Presto pressure canner. Was packaged inside of another box and with protection against breakage.

I'm getting married next week and needed mason jars in bulk. I'll be using them as drinking glasses for the evening and our guests can take them home as our favors. Although I did find mason jars for less on another website, adding their shipping and handling made the cost outrageous. Purchasing the same jars from Walmart was overall cheaper because I received free shipping. Fast delivery and I didn't have to worry about transferring them all from the store to my home.

Love this jar for canning, either water bath or pressure. It is just the right size for so many foods, my family loves to eat. It is about the size of a can I would get at the store for my receipes.
