Yes it plays both with no problem. With BlueRay movies so expensive we actually have bought more standard ones to use with the BlueRay player. The picture still looks great compared to non BlueRay disc players - so you will still see a huge picture difference.

yep it sure does, u can play any dvd, and the picture if you put a standard dvd is very clear, but if you put a blue ray disc the picture is AWESOME!!! :)

No it does not you will need to purchase that seperatly. Still worth the price of the player it self. The cable is under 20.00 depending where you buy it from We bought ours for around 9.00 so still bought this system and the cable for under 100.00 well worth it.

It comes with the red, green, and blue hi def cables. If you want to use a hdmi cable, you will have to buy it seperately.

No HDMI cable, but you can run on component HD instead. I don't have HDMI in on my TV and this worked. You can even run regular A/V, but I'm not sure why you would.

This player does not come with an HDMI cable but comes with regular RCA cables. If you use regular RCA cables, the best ones to use are the RCA cables that are gold plated!
