I Fixed the Leak Problem

First of all, the water must flow from the top to the bottom of the device, not the other way around. The top (female threads) have a back-pressure relief system that will eject water due to back-pressure. This will happen if you're feeding a sprinkler system like I am and if your hose is kinked. The device does not like back-pressure. Also, it's very easy to cross-thread the male threads on the bottom of the unit. I suggest buying a brass female to male fitting and carefully threading it on the bottom (male threads) using some RTV. Once done, it should be as easy to connect a hose to the fitting as it is to connect it to a spigot. I hope this helps everyone who is having problems with this device. I don't understand why the manufacturer is ignoring this issue when so many people have posted it.

Recommended with a provisal---

I've attached this to my drip system just before the shut off timer and it's worked fine for 3 months. But the other day I found it broken and spewing out water from the inlet. After removing it from the system I found the inlet broken. I expect the water pressure from being constantly under pressure and the joggling it endures when dispensing the plant food (it happened while I had it in "FEED" mode) combined to eventually crack the plastic housing. It would be nice if Miracle Grow would make a unit with brass fittings instead of plastic. Until then I'd recommend placing the unit on the outlet side of any shut off timer to keep the water pressure at zero when off.

A DUD. Please post a mix-it-yourself recipe for watering can use

I first used this product several years ago and it worked well. The next season, the liquid didn't draw and the couple of bottles I had stored within the temperature range indicated had caved in a little (like from a vacuum), so I bought new bottles and when that didn't work, I bought a new dispenser. Nothing works! In one of the replies to a negative review, the company said the dispenser will click if it's dispensing. Mine does not click, so I guess it's a dud. I wish they'd post a mix-it-yourself recipe so I could mix the liquid fertilizer in a watering can and use it that way. I have several bottles and hate to waste the contents.

We apologize that the Liquafeed Universal Feeder is not working properly for you. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know about this issue, and we will forward your comments to our Quality Assurance Team. If you haven't already returned the feeder, we do have some troubleshooting tips to help get the feeder to work. The feeder requires at least 30 PSI on your hose to properly siphon. If the bottle isn't securely screwed in or if the knob on the feeder is not set to "Feed," then it won't siphon. Sometimes the feeder needs to be primed. Squeezing the bottle to force liquid into the system can cause it to start siphoning, and you will know it is working when there is a clicking noise. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please contact us to see what can be done.
