BLACK+DECKER BDH2000SLB 20V MAX Lithium Bare Hand Vacuum

I love most of my B&D products, I have many of the tools in the 20V MAX line and the ability to share batteries throughout is the best part. I had a giftcard and was looking to expand my collection, got my hands on one of these vacuums which are actually hard to find sometimes but I figured this would be great, use the same batteries as my drills and clean up mess as I work on projects! Well... it could have been good, but it is terribly loud even for a vacuum, and worse than that the down-firing exhaust is a HUGE screw-up on the part of whoever designed this, as well as anyone who reviewed the design in management and gave it the green light. It literally blows away whatever you are trying to suck up. I am just dumbfounded that anyone could have put something like this forth. On top of all that, its a really mediocre vacuum as far as suction power goes. Now, I'm not going to throw mine away. I'll rig up some kind of deflector for the air out of some odds and ends and make it work. I have used it with one hand acting as a deflector to suck up some drywall dust from putting in wall anchors for some shelves and it was otherwise OK for that. Just sad that it requires modification to not blow the debris everywhere and its too loud and too weak otherwise to earn a third star. Back to the drawing board for this one, B&D design crew. The bar for a decent hand vac is very low, all we want it to do is suck up light stuff. Just fix the exhaust and we could have looked past the other stuff and probably shot up to four stars.
