Amazing for camping!

I bought this for camping. It was the best purchase ever! Picks up a lot of radio stations quite clearly......even when we're on an island surrounded by trees on all shorelines. I have used it for two different trips for over 48hrs continuously each trip (we're used to sleeping with a tv on and I have to drown out my husband snoring so we didn't turn it off at night) and the 2 AA batteries are still going strong. Strongly recommend buying this!!

Sony. No baloney.

The analog Sony ICF-P26 is the Sony 2015 AM/FM Pocket Radio replacement model for the legendary and now discontinued Sony ICF-S10MK2 whose production spanned three decades. Sony INVENTED the pocket radio in 1959. Pocket radios are intended for personal use on batteries only and are not really loud enough for entertaining a crowd. The ICF-P26 is 4.69 inches tall, 2.74 inches wide, 1.50 inches thick and weighs 6.7 ounces so it easily tucks in a desk or kitchen drawer, auto glove box, tackle box, etc. This is one of the best disaster kit radios you can buy. It uses 2 AA batteries and there is no option for AC power at all but since the batteries last so long you do not need AC. Operation is stupid easy. The new P26 has new features and improvements over the legacy model it replaced and I will list a few.. New IC chip delivers richer more detailed sound and also more than doubles battery life from 40 continuous FM hours to 100 hours. 3.5 mm headphone jack yields mono sound in both sides of stereo ear-gear. Reinforced antenna mount. More sensitive tuning red LED light. New green battery condition LED monitor light. Heavier duty wrist strap. Hinged battery compartment door. Good FM reception at all times in most conditions except underground. Good local AM reception daytime and longer distance AM reception at night except in electronically polluted areas with computers, Wi-Fi, cell phones, florescent/CFL lighting, etc or in basements. Metal building construction also seems problematic. Better reception than the Sangean SR-35 that is comparably priced. One year warranty. Not much to complain about here as a pocket radio as it is one of the two best sounding ones out there and the best in reception. Everyone needs a pocket AM/FM and this is a good one!
