Schumacher Electric 6A Car Battery Charger and 80A Engine Starter, Maintainer, 20A Boost, 12V Sport, Auto, and Marine Batteries, SC1306

I did not run my 2006 GMC pickup during a long cold snap, and had left a bluetooth adapter turned on. I actually rode my bike through the snow and ice to the hardware store, a couple miles. The charger is pretty heavy, maybe 15 lbs. I had to buy bungees to strap the big box to the bike's luggage rack. Super simple charger, set battery type and amps. It won't power up if you reverse polarity, which makes it idiot proof, in theory. I was anxious to get going, but after a couple quick failed attempts, I let it charge for about an hour, and then my pickup fired right up. I like the charger a lot. Beware, the packaging in the box is old school, allowing scuffs and dings. My scuffs and dings are pretty small, and I will add many more, most likely. I have not used the charger for trickle/maintain, but it got my pickup going, so I am very happy with it. It replaces my vintage same brand Schumacher charger that went missing. I can't remember how the cables wrap up on the back. It is not intuitive or roomy back there, but I will figure something out. In spite of the simple controls and LEDs, this is just like the 'home garage' chargers of past decades. Very old school, which is my favorite. The cooling fan is quite audible and reassuring. I like Schumacher products and am glad my local hardware store carries this model.
