Efficient way of having distilled water
Good product overall. A bit difficult to handle the lid, which is also the distillation device, but manageable. It takes about 4-5 hours to make a gallon, a little longer than specified at 1l/hr but that's OK. I only use it for ironing and floor cleaning so I can't comment on the taste. I think it's worth it in the long run.

Simple design gets the job done
This unit puts out 1 L per hour, so you are running dry right after 4 hours. If it runs dry you will get some burnt. To fix this, set a timer or outlet timer for 3 hours and 45 min. Fill to the Full line and only run it 3:45. To help with cleaning, add a little bit (1/8 to 1/4 tsp) of citric acid to every batch, and it will help a lot with calcification. You'll still need to do a periodic 1-2 tbsp of citric acid cleaning, but not as often. Don't run it dry, and add a little citric acid to each batch.
