Of the multiple brands available, I chose this one because it contains all three of the "strains" of maca root and specifically, the black variety was listed first in the ingredients listing. Each of the black, red, and yellow maca roots contain slightly different properties that best support various bodily processes (mostly hormone regulation but also stamina, vitality, and energy levels). As with all herbs, they take several weeks to several months of daily intake to achieve desired results and thus far, my energy levels have somewhat improved as well as my stamina to handle daily stresses.
