Drive with Confidence in snowy weather

After researching tires to find a winter snow tire, I came across the new Weathergrip tire from Firestone. I finally found a tire that could perform in light snow and these tires didn't disappoint. I live at nearly 4000 ft. In Shasta County CA. We have four seasons here with periods of snow during the winter months. Recently we had snow on the roads and these tires absolutely performed as advertised. Confident driving with these tires in the snow allowed me to get home safely to my family. Rain performance has exceeded my expectations and even in icy road conditions the tire sticks to the road, of course always drive with caution. The 65,000 mile warranty was a plus for me, not many tires will have such a good warranty. The Weathergrip tire does have a softer compound and in dry conditions with heavy acceleration you will notice the tire grip the road. Not many people know about this tire, I had to special order this set of tires from my local Big O tire and had them the next day. I would highly recommend these tires if you live in areas that get snow and you want a tire that can perform year round. Good warranty, great performance for me and plan on getting the same tires for my other vehicle.

Excellent in Colorado Snow

I was excited to see a snow rated tire that is basically an all season tire. After several snow drives, they handle really well in snow. I'm impressed. As others have said the road noise / buzzing sound takes a bit to get used to and it's annoying at first. However, in Colorado - I'll take it to not have to swap out tires every season.

Perfect balance of dry performance and snow/ice traction

Purchased and installed by my local Firestone dealer early January 2020 for my 2014 Honda Accord Sport (FWD sedan). I consider Blizzak as my winter tire benchmark and enjoyed that tire in the past but didn't want to hassle with swapping them out. I coudn't find a review of snow/ice performance before my purchase and took a chance given that the tread design is similar to the Blizzak with an all-season rubber compound. I average 30k mi. per year, mostly highway. Driving in northern Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin since purchased has given me good experience with snow/sleet/ice/wet/dry behavior. Dry: Good feel, not too soft or spongy, quiet, comfortable. Overall good. Wet: Decent wet traction with slight understeer when pushed. Fairly stable and overall good. Snow: Really good snow traction at both slow and highway speeds. Good grip for starting, cornering, and stopping. Ice: Really good ice traction, similar to Blizzak performance. Really stable starting, cornering, and stopping. Very secure. Walking/slipping on sheets of ice to get into the car then driving away with ease was a common theme. Sleet/Slush: Very common on roads and highways, very stable performance. Excellent behavior and allows for passing in an uncleared highway lane (FWD sedan). This tire exceeds all of my expectations. It does exactly what I hoped for and have wanted for years. It gives me very good snow/sleet/ice traction in town and on the highway while being confident/quiet/stable in normal dry/wet pavement. Curious how long the tread actually lasts and how the next winter will feel so the durability rating isn't based on 3,500mi of experience but an expectation that at 40k-50k mi the snow/ice traction will be reduced.
