I cut my finger and used this ointment in combination with alcohol to assist with the healing process. I will admit, this ointment burned, but that just showed me that it was doing it's job, and an excellent one at that! My finger is now nicely healed and infection-free! Actually, a very important part of taking care of any small cuts and scrapes is to wash your hands and then wash the skin that has the small cuts and scrapes. Get it cleaned up as soon as possible. You can use soap and water. Keep the area clean. The ointment helps with the keeping the wound clean.
