ALA IS A SUBSTITUTE FOR GABAPENTIN MEDS !

I use this as a substitute for gabapentin 100 mg- as it has caused shortness of breath and anxiety- due to taking it for the last three years. i have CKD and it is detrimental for my condition as well. I had read that Alpha Lipoic Acid is the best substitute for gabapentin- so I'm using that now- I'm taking one capsule daily- hopefully the symptoms of neuropathy will not return- but if it does i will double the dose of ALA- if that fails-then I will seek help from a neuropathy doctor.

This Alpha Lipoic Acid made my mornings better.

My mom's neurologist recommended alpha lipoic acid 600mg daily, for neuropathy. After I got the okay from my doc, I took it daily for a few weeks but no changes. Decided to take on empty stomach, so I wake up (tinkle), take my ALA, %26 go right back to sleep. When I wake for the day, I feel like I really slept. YAY! No more morning brain fog. I'm instantly connected. It's like I'm a kid again. Does it work for neuropathy? Yeah, a little, but I love waking up now. I'll never stop taking alpha lipoic acid. Per this brand of ALA 600 mg, it's a quality product and a great value, and for me, a bonus side effect. Five stars!
