My dog is a picky eater. She would like all new food added into her diet but after a few days she suddenly doesn't care for it. She'd refuse to eat to the point she's vomiting for having an empty stomach for so long. This happened with the food before we bought Merrick Backcountry. We decided to try it out because it's rated 5 stars on DFA, grain free, the first ingredient is fresh meat, and the protein level is tolerable for our 12.5 lbs dog. The bag size I wanted of the Great Plains Red Meat was sold out so I decided on the Pacific Catch Recipe and it is a winner! Our dog would lick her bowl clean and would return to her already clean bowl after a minute or 2 just to make sure she got every last piece. I like how the kibble is small so she doesn't have to make much effort to chew. No stomach issues which is great. I've noticed less itching and tear staining.

I am not one who normally writes product reviews. However, when I finally found a food my husky will actually eat, I definitely got pretty excited about it! I rescued my husky several years ago and until I tried Merrick it was a game of which food will Koda like today? Koda is the most picky eater and finding treats/food he likes it almost impossible. I am SO glad I decided to give Merrick a try because it has been the only food (since I've adopted Koda) that he will consistently every single day! Merrick has seriously been a life saver, I feed it to both of my dogs. Thanks to Merrick, Koda now found a food he can enjoy and for that I am grateful!
