OVERVIEW

The Bridgestone Turanza EL400-02 RFT (MOExtended) is a touring, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. This specific tire is marked with MOExtended as it is the original equipment of RunFlat Mercedes vehicles.

This tire was manufactured using the run flat technology. The tire can support the weight of the vehicle for 50 miles and up to 50 mph after the loss of air pressure. This prevents the driver from being stranded on the side of the road, instead they are able to arrive safely at a location where they can change or repair the tire. Run flat tires are manufactured for vehicles that do not have space for spare tires and they cannot be mixed with regular tires.

The special tread pattern enhances the tire's year-round traction and it grips the road well in wet, dry and even winter weather. The tread pattern's circumferential tread grooves eliminate water from below the footprint, resisting dangerous hydroplaning situations. The all weather safety levels of the tire were increased this way.

The tire was made with the O-Bead construction, which is a single continuous strand of cable in the bead of the tire. This improves the tire's uniformity by not letting it deform under the driving pressure, but it also absorbs all the road vibration. As the tire absorbs the road vibrations, the comfort levels of the drive are increased.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
