For optimal burn and safety please keep wick trimmed to 0.25 inches before lighting, and place on a hot surface away from flammable materials. There are some precautions when using scented candles. The flame should be placed at the bottom of the wick until it is ignited, and the burning process usually takes 1-2 hours until the pool of wax reaches the rim of the jar.
