Mainstays 21.5 Quart Stainless Steel Canning Pot with Rack, Dual Water Bath Canner and Steam Canner

My Mainstays Stainless Steel 21.5 Quart Multi Use Food Canner with Tempered Glass Lid is my favorite new toy! I have been wanting to make jams & jellies for a long time and now I can. My first project with my new food canner was to make Strawberry Jam, and it turned out great! I love that it holds eight 16oz jars and that I can use it to either steam or water bath my jars. I especially love the tempered glass lid so that I can keep an eye on water level and how well the water is boiling without lifting the lid. The jar rack is a chrome plated carbon steel and doesn’t seem too sturdy to me but, time will tell. Looks can be deceiving! The pot and lid are both heavy and sturdy and appear to be well made. The pot seemed to heat the water evenly throughout. For those, like me, who cannot afford a pressure canner, this setup does the job just fine… and at a fraction of the cost. Between now & Christmas, this canner and I will be spending a lot of time together. I am absolutely delighted to own the Mainstays Stainless Steel 21.5 Quart Multi Use Food Canner with Tempered Glass Lid and enthusiastically recommend this canner to anyone looking to try his/her hand at home canning. I am beyond pleased!

First time canner and I needed all the help I could get. My lemon tree produced so many lemons that I decided to make jam and store it. I would like the company to make a video tutorial about the product for first times like me because I got lost with the instructions. After I watched a couple of other videos online I decided to go for it. The pot is thin so it doesn't take too long to get the water to boil. The basket makes things very easy to submerge and lift the jars in and out the hot water. The handles on the basket fold so you can use the pot as a steamer. I wish there was some kind of lock so the handles didn't fold down when the basket is submerged, I had to use tongs to get them up to pull the basket. The pot made the whole process easy and now that I learned how to use it I'll keep making jam....who knew it! Get some jar tongs and a jar funnel and you are set. Very pleased with the product
