EXCELLENT THERMOS!!

This is your classic "thermos" insulated food jar, and it's fantastic! It's a large enough size to contain multiple servings of your favorite hot or cold liquids, but not too large to not be able to easily tote it along in a lunch box or bag. It keeps your hots hot and your cold stuff cold, and it does so very successfully for several hours. This is a quality insulated jar that seals tightly, so you don't have to ever worry about leaks! It came with comprehensive instructions on how to clean and care for your jar, as well as a guide on how to open the lid/use the product. There is a special button on the top of the lid that allows you to release steam before opening, which is a wonderful safety feature if any heat has built up behind the lid, or if you're concerned about being burned by the steam upon opening. Overall, it's a pretty brilliantly simple design, but that's what you can always trust about Mainstays products-- simple but brilliant. It's a quality product, and you will not be disappointed.

Perfect for hot or cold items!

The Mainstays 27 Ounce Stainless Steel Insulated Food Jar has been coming to work with me all week! When I first got this food jar I actually filled it with my breakfast shake that needs to stay cold and this food jar kept it at an incredibly cold temperature for a long time. I really like that the mouth opening on this food jar is super wide so I don’t have to crush down my ice or anything else that I’m putting in here. I have also put soup in this food jar and I think that’s actually my most favorite thing to put in here. I really love that there is a little pressure relief valve button that actually reduces and releases the steam from the jar. I was a little worried that my food or drinks would taste like steel but they haven’t at all. This is made of durable 18/10 food grade stainless steel. This container is double walled and insulated which pretty much keeps everything the temperature that it should be. I really like that the top comes off and could be made into a little cup or bowl. I have put this jar in my work bag and it has fallen over sideways turned upside down and hasn’t leaked once!

Works very well

Before work, I made some soup and put it in this insulated food jar. I took it to work and left it on my desk. I wanted to test if the food was actually going to stay warm for the full 5 hours. I was pleasantly surprised that the food was pretty warm. Obviously, not as hot as it was when I left the house. However, it was warm enough to eat and enjoy. I have not tried hot chocolate or coffee yet, but those are next on my list as soccer season is around the corner. This jar was very easy to clean. It does not have a bunch of places where food or drink is going to get stuck. The lids open very easy. I will say it was a little tough opening the inside lid with the warm soup inside. I am very pleased with this product and would definitely recommend to family and friends. The top lid is a little confusing as you have to twist to make it come off. However, when you look inside, it is not normal threads. So, even though it is a little weird, it works well. It stays on tight. I have had no issues with this product and my wife likes it as well.
