2015 Passat

Removed OEM pads and Rotors on my 2015 1.8t Wolfsburg edition Passat. It was its first brake job. I was happy with the performance Of the OEM brakes but chose to replace them with the K7501 kit. Glad I did. As I drive and repair my own cars, I can say that there was a noticeable performance gain with the K7501 brake kit. Only one issue came up with the front pads. My understanding is that the kit was a direct replacement for my vehicle. The front pads in the kit had sensor wiring and a plug built into the a pad. The OEM pads had no wiring or plug on them. When I called customer service on the phone, the front pads part number was verified as the correct pad set. I asked if I should cut off the wires and plug and use the pads as hoped. She was quite sure I had the wrong pads even if the numbers showed differently. She said I shouldn’t have to cut any wires to use my pads. Unhappy with the answer I knew I needed someone from the tech department to help. She put me on hold and returned with a recommendation from the tech department to cut the wires and plug off of the pad in order to use on my vehicle. She acknowledged that the technical advisor was aware of “the issue with the VW’s.” Never had to call anyone on a brake job before. My question is this. If the technical resources were aware of the issue, why didn’t they make corrections to eliminate the problem and not continue to send a product out that requires end user modification?
