Victorinox Evolution Grip S17 15 Function Red Pocket Knife

I got this over the Huntsman because of the locking blade, and it's perfect. The locking mechanism is ingenious with it's half stop and thumb operated release mechanism and great complement of tools for the outdoors. It has everything you need (locking blade, wood saw, reamer/awl, scissors, flathead/philips screwdrivers, can opener etc..) for hiking and camping. The great thing with this locking main blade mechanism is it enables single handed operation to close it. I just press the lever down with my thumb, and with my index finger pull the blade down. The blade stops halfway so you can swing your thumb out of the way and then use your thumb or index finger to pull the blade the rest of the way down to closure. So well designed! The lever protrudes a little but does not bother my grip at all. You just adapt to it. The only thing I would change on it would be the inclusion of the small blade to replace the nail file and incorporate the file on the back along one of the springs. The small blade is great for the more detailed carving tasks. All in all, the near perfect Swiss Army Knife, I would highly recommend.
