Kohler All-in-One Sink Combo

The kitchen sink and faucet are really nice and elegant, pretty deep to accommodate pots and pans but the bottom protector silicone mat is garbage. The mat accumulates organic material at the bitty and it's very hard to clean, it even developed some spots that are impossible to remove even using strong bath cleaning chemicals. I've been trying to find a stainless steel bottom protector that fit this sink to eliminate the silicone one

I bought this a couple months ago during a total kitchen remodel and it was professional installed. My problem with the sink is the strainer. Nothing goes through it unless you put your fingers in it to hold the rigid rubber open. I have a garbage disposal and that is a problem - a huge problem. Then the mat they include with it - uff. You cannot spray out your sink with it in there. That together with the strainer make it totally impossible. I had a different brand of sink at our other home and I never had an issue. I always thought you could count on Kohler. Not for sinks I guess.
