This was part of a travel size kit of Philip B paraben & phthalate free version. I decided it was time to give this a go & I have to say I'm quite pleased w/the results as my hair currently air dries. I should note, I'm using this prior to coloring my hair so I didn't add any conditioner or styling products after using. Further, my hair is poker straight, & baby fine (although my recent longer bob seems to provide some depth). First, the smell is the one thing that would probably preclude me from purchasing this again. I'm a gal, & despite many of us not minding a more masculine or unisex scent this reminds me of “Irish Spring,” but a MUCH MORE LUXE VERSION!! It's pine fresh “Nordic Woods” is the perfect name for the product & it doesn't smell too much now that I washed the shampoo out (I used this just in my hair & not on my body). It is a natural walk through the woods, but with that said, for me it reminds me too much of that “Irish Spring” at first lather, & I had to use my mind to stop thinking of my father while I was using (I've nothing against my dad, but I don't want to smell like him). It's the whole scent taking you back in time, & growing up that just happened to be the soap Dad used. Again, this is not quite like that, but enough for it to affect me personally. Past the scent, this was quite moisturizing indeed. As I noted, I didn't add anything after using this product, yet it was soooo easy to comb my hair. Perhaps if it was longer I may have had issues, but I don't think so because as this dries, my hair feels quite silky (ok, yes, that's something my hair already is because of its natural qualities, but still I've used shampoos that seemed to strip or something where this seems to keep things in check while not overdoing it as to weigh my hair down). I'd say this is perfect for anyone who likes more “masculine” scents, but that doesn't mean it's only for men. I, honestly, won't buy this by itself, but that's because I have already reviewed the avocado shampoo that I liked better & I have yet one more shampoo from this kit to try that I believe will be my Philip B fav (more on that once I do try that shampoo). As for the body wash part, as I said I didn't use it that way, but if you like the scent then I say have at it & do the whole body up with this!! If it didn't strip my hair then I don't anticipate it leaving the bod anything but silky smooth (woodsy smelling) but w/out any residue. If I was a man, this would be in my Dopp kit as my go to because it's a multiuse product!! I love anything that makes travel lighter & easier!! If I could put the past association w/the scent I could move into a warm cozy winter feeling at a fire as that was what my mind conjured to get my dad's face out of my head when using this product ;)
