People are expecting and comparing these to actual french toast sticks and not something to use as and or with a protein supplement in lieu of something with way more added sugar and fat. Of course your kids are probably not going to like it, they're used to the refined sugar soaked bread sticks. It is a little pricey for the amount given but the quality is not that bad. If you nuke any bread in a microwave it will harden quicker than if baked in an oven.

These sticks are the best. On package it indicates to cook 4 pieces for 2minutes. I have found if you only cook for 1.5 minutes they are much better. Nicely coated with Cinnamon, very tasty, pricing is great and I recommend.
