My vet recommended this years ago when I feared I brought home a respiratory disease from a shelter where I volunteered. I sprinkle a little of this on Frankie's wet food twice a day. Big bottle of a white powder that cats will not detect in wet food. My rescued cats with respiratory issues, gets it three times a week and never found out I hid it in his wet smelly food.
