-Gasket:
1.Mounts between blender blade assembly and lip of jar
2.Do not install beneath blender blade assembly or between blade and plastics base - this will in a leaky jar and poor fit.
3.Depending on how frequently blender is used, sealing-ring can become brittle and cracked or compressed so that it will not create-sufficient seal to keep contents of jar from leaking out of bottom.

-Bottom Base:
1. purpose of this item is to hold blade and seal in place at bottom of blender jar.
2.Because it has plastics threads they will wear at times and jar will leak.
3.Over tightening may crack this part, dropping it may break it and excessive heat may warp it.
4.Once you have this part off, this is a time to check sealing-ring to see if it is not cracked or if it has been compressed too much.
