It probably does the job, I run it all the time so it must work :D When I looking into it, I saw quite a few reviews saying it was too loud. I only ever use the low setting, and I never even notice it, I forget it's on. Whenever I use the high setting it does come to my attention, but that's only when I really need to clear the air, which isn't often.

I purchased a second unit for the bedroom. Lighting on the panel makes it easy to read, including an indicator light for filter change. Runs super quiet at sleep setting and for 1st setting, just slightly louder at 2nd setting. Cleans the air really well mostly run it on one setting and forget it. Option for nite light is really nice for bedroom. Not American made, heppa filters are little pricey but worth the money.
