This is small, portable and good for people and pets. i got it for my reptile. i dont like putting her in water that is too cold or too hot. this takes surface temp, air temp and temp of people. ive had mine for a few months. the battery that came with it was corroded. i got new ones.

3-in-1 Non-Contact Infrared Forehead Thermometer

What an awesome little unit. Right out of the box - just put the batteries in the unit and you are ready to go. I got this just in time to be able to use it on my daughter who had a few days of high and low temperatures. I did a comparison with this unit and an old fashioned mercury thermometer. Both were the same the four times I tried so stopped using the old mercury thermometer. I kept a log and when we took her to her pediatrician he was happy to see that we compared the two - using one that was a tried and trusted method and said he wished all parents did this after buying a new gadget - isn't your child's health worth it. She was much appreciative of not having to remove her diaper and have the old thermometer used. The doctor was also happy that we had so many readings charted - which was just very easy to do with this Easy@Home 3-in-1 Non-Contact Infrared Forehead Thermometer.

Best thermometer for little ones!

This is perfect for checking the temperature on your little ones, even while they are sleeping! It can read their temperature above their forehead without even touching them, and you can even turn off the beep sound so you can quietly check their temperature without disturbing them. I also like that you can calibrate it to be as accurate as your doctor's thermometer to make sure it is giving you the closest possible reading. This is so convenient and so handy!
