Tired of looking at all the expensive ones on Amazon that are black. And all the tricksters that show a cheap price but then you discover a $20 add-on delivery charge. Reviews on some of those black ones, even on an exact same product, someone will give a rating of one, and another person a rating of five. (garbage, do not buy. Vs excellent, exactly what I was needing.) 😄 OK, so on this product from Walmart, very solid and the only one I've seen with a locking lid. It locks when you pull the metal handle straight up to vertical. You will get some definite contact resistance, trying to move the handle over the lid. However, it does function. At 6 gallons capacity, it is about a gallon larger than all the Amazon ones. Largest I saw was 5.15 gallons. There is about a 1/2 inch space from the bucket bottom to the floor. So that space does act as an air insulation so hot coals do not burn the floor. This is certainly not as good as a product that has a double layered bottom, but those are hard to find and very expensive. However, I would not trust a half inch air space by setting it on a nice floor. I always put my hot ash bucket on concrete, brick or a spare piece of wood. I plan to insert a second layer on inside bottom using aluminum or sheet metal, creating a half inch air space between the layers, then sealing the new layer edge with furnace cement caulk. I also plan to add a small piece of PVC pipe onto metal handle as a cool hand grip to carry bucket outside since the all metal handle may get hot resting against the bucket's side. If you decide you want everything sprayed black for aesthetics, make sure you use a specialized spray paint or primer,made to adhere to galvanized steel.🙂 My old ash bucket had rusted through both bottom layers, the sides, and even part of the lid. I'm glad this new one is heavy duty galvanized steel!!!

Bought this to keep laundry detergent in and it's amazing! Bought another for my son to keep laundry detergent in also. Met a lady while purchasing my sons in the store and she decided to buy herself one also. Several others were very impressed by how well it's made and looks. Plan on buying a couple more.
