Great lamp base, shade looks cheap.
This lamp has a substantial glass base. The glass has a nice subtle ripple and the antique brass looks just like the picture. I deducted 2 stars for the shade. The shade looks very cheap for the price of the lamp and in relation to the quality of the base, it is plain white material with bright brass supports. If you place the lamp below eye level the difference between the shade's shiny gold cross bars and the antiqued finial is glaringly different. It looks like a replacement shade from a discount store. If the top of the lamp is above eye level, it passes as an “okay” shade. I ordered 2 of the lamps at the same time, and they arrived several days apart. Customer Service was very helpful and responsive as they were tracking the second lamp to make sure it wasn't lost.
