Transitioning to Wellness: It is important to slowly transition your dog from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to the new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5-7 day period, increasing the amount of Wellness each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness by day 7. Determining Feeding Portions: Looking at the chart below, divide the total cups per day by the total number of times you feed your dog per day to determine the portion size for each meal. Keep a clean bowl of fresh water available at all times. Wellness believes in feeding dry and wet food in combination whenever possible to help increase the level of water in your dog's diet. Nutrition is only one part of the equation! Be sure to give your dog plenty of love, plenty of exercise and see your veterinarian regularly to help ensure total wellness. Recommended Feeding Portions (Standard measuring cup holds approximately 4.1 oz (116 g) of Wellness Complete Health Senior Deboned Chicken & Barley Recipe) Every dog is a little different, so optimal feeding amounts may vary with age, size and activity level. Dogs over 125 lbs (57 kg): Add ?? cup (29 g) per additional 10 lbs (4.5 kg). Combination Feeding: If feeding with Wellness wet food, reduce dry amount by 1/3 cup (38 g) for every 6 oz (170 g) of wet food. For Puppies and Pregnant or Nursing Dogs: Feed 25% more than the amounts listed.

Great for our Girl
We switched our senior girl to Wellness Complete Health Senior Dry Dog Food, Wholesome Grains, Natural, Age Advantage Chicken %26 Barley Recipe after noticing she needed a food better suited for her changing needs as she got older. Like with any food transition, there was a short adjustment period, but once she settled into it, the difference was very noticeable. She has been doing incredibly well on this food ever since. One of the biggest improvements we've seen is her energy level. For a senior dog, she still has plenty of pep and seems excited for mealtime every day. Her digestion has also been excellent — consistent, healthy bowel movements like clockwork with no stomach issues. Her coat looks healthy, she maintains a good weight, and overall she just seems happier and more comfortable.
