Hamilton Beach 37549 14 Cup - Digital Simplicity Rice Cooker

The rice cooker is very easy to use and fully automatic. Just follow the instruction and measurements. Add the rice, water, salt or anything else, set the mode by pushing the mode button, and then push start. That's it, the time is automatic. When it first started it said 45 minutes, but after it starts cooking the rice it automatically adjusts the time. It does this several times while cooking and you will hear a beep when it's done. I thought it was amazing it knows the moisture in the rice and it comes out perfect. Not overcooked like my last one, and not under cooked. The cooker seems to be well made and has a solid feeling to it. Looks good in the kitchen. The lid is a solid fit locks down, and opens with the push of a button. I used it as a steamer for cauliflower and it also came out perfect, not mushy or under cooked. The cord storage is nice just push it through the cord storage hole and all the extra is hidden. Looks like I'll be eating more healthy. I like it.

This is a great little rice cooker. But let me start off by saying that the cooker is full with 7 cups of cooked food. I don't know why the packaging says 2-14 cups, it should say 2-7 cups. This rice cooker has options for quick rice, white rice, brown rice, heat/simmer, steam cook, keep warm and has delay start. There is a steam basket for steaming vegetables, a scoop for measuring rice (3/4 cup), and a rice paddle for stirring or serving. The first picture shows how full the cooker is with 3 scoops (2 1/4 cups) long grain white rice. The second picture shows 2 cups of oatmeal, using the Overnight Oatmeal recipe from the manual, except I used raisins instead of apples. I like the delay start for preparing hot cereals for breakfast. This cooker is easy to use and easy to clean up. It is the perfect size for 2 to 4 people. I received this item for review.
